Eurodisco (or Euro disco) is a form of European electronic dance music that evolved from disco in the mid-1970s, incorporating pop and rock elements into a continuous dance atmosphere. Many Eurodisco songs feature English lyrics, though the singers often have different native languages. Derivatives of Eurodisco include Europop and Eurodance, with prominent sub-genres being space disco (late 1970s) and Italo disco (early 1980s). The genre declined in popularity after 1986, giving way to electronic rock and hi-NRG, with a small revival of Italo disco in the late 1990s.
